HR keeps being told AI is going to change our job.
But almost no one is telling us what that actually means.
Will it take the admin? The advice? The investigations? The judgement calls?
Which parts of your role become more valuable, and which capabilities do you need to build before the work shifts underneath you?
That is the question we wanted to answer.
Together with GoFIGR and HiAi Institute™, we analysed 100 HR roles and more than 1,800 tasks across three AI adoption scenarios.
The finding: 84.3% of HR tasks will be impacted by AI within the next three years.
Not necessarily removed. Impacted.
Some work will remain distinctly human. Some will become AI-led, with HR guiding and overseeing it. Some work will disappear altogether.
The issue is not whether HR needs to “learn AI.”
It is whether we understand how our work is changing quickly enough to make deliberate choices about where we create value next because when your role is evolving, how the heck are you supposed to know what to build next?
This report gives HR people a place to start:
👉 what is likely to change in HR work
👉what remains fundamentally human
👉the seven capabilities that will matter, regardless of which AI tools your organisation chooses
👉how to begin shaping the change, rather than having it happen to you
AI will decide what HR does less of.
It will not decide what HR becomes. That part is on us.
